Helping people in need is a mission we undertake each day, and it is something we want to put a spotlight on for the work others do. We are incredibly proud of our sister store, Portsmouth Ford, for donating a Ford F-150 pickup truck model to a community food pantry to help with collecting food. The dealership recently presented the pickup truck to Gather Food Pantry in Seacoast, NH, who is busy working hard to collect food for families in need. This gesture by our Sawyer Automotive Group colleagues is extraordinary because it will provide food security and nourishment for thousands of people during this historic period.
Gather Food Pantry has been serving Seacoast residents for more than 200 years to make the Greater Seacoast area a hunger-free community. The COVID-19 pandemic created a challenge for the food pantry, with more people needing food as more community members become unemployed.
The food pantry collects food from farms, but it takes more to gather food with greater needs. That is where Portsmouth Ford stepped up by donating the Ford F-150 pickup truck model, as it provides additional hauling and transportation for the food pantry. The truck is used to take food from 20 area farms back to the food pantry for distribution.
During the pandemic, we are all reminded about the importance of helping our neighbors and sticking together. Our sister store Portsmouth Ford showed how they have a huge heart that is filled with compassion and giving. We are especially proud of the contributions they are making to the community during the COVID-19 pandemic, and also throughout the entire year with their various outreach programs.
