In turn, the automotive industry became heavily impacted at the start of this year because though plants and factories are reopening, there is a deficit of the microchips needed for powering a model’s engine and entertainment systems. This has caused multiple manufacturers, such as Ford, to put a pause on producing new vehicles and even temporarily close down plants until more chips are available.
